Visitor Visa (Subclass 600) allows you to come to Australia for a visit or for business purposes for 3, 6, or 12 months. You may be in Australia or outside to apply for tourist visa.
You may apply for visit visa in following streams:
Tourist Stream: This visa stream let you visit Australia as a tourist, to go on cruise or o see family and friends.
Sponsored family stream: This visa stream lets people who are sponsored, usually by a family member, come to Australia to visit their family members.
Business Visitor Stream: This visa stream lets you visit Australia for business reasons.
Approved Destination Status Stream: You can get this visa if you are travelling to Australia: This visa stream is for citizens from certain areas of China visiting Australia on a tour organized by an approved travel agent.
Frequent Traveler Stream: This visa stream is for citizens of the People’s Republic of China who travel often to Australia for business or personal reasons.
If you are making a visit visa application, you must show the department that you have enough finance to support your stay in Australia. In addition to this, you also need to show that you have a genuine intention to stay in Australia temporarily.
If you are already in Australia, you can apply for the Tourist stream of the Visitor visa online provided you currently have a valid visa that does not have condition 8503 (No Further Stay) imposed. You might be allowed to enter only once. If so, you will need to apply for a new visa if you want to return to Australia again after you leave. You might be able to travel to and from Australia as many times as you want while your visa is valid, but the total time you spend in Australia cannot be more than the period of stay that you have been granted.
